A total of 186 people in Northwestern Wisconsin tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday, Nov. 14, according to the state Department of Health Services.

They were reported as follows: 35 in Taylor County; 34 in Douglas County; 26 in Burnett County; 23 in Washburn County; 18 each in Bayfield and Sawyer counties; 12 in Ashland County; seven each in Iron and Rusk counties; six in Price County.

The state reported 5,146 cases Saturday, bringing the total to 306,311. The seven-day average of positive cases was 6,168, compared to 727 on Sept. 1, DHS said.

An additional 52 deaths were reported Saturday. Statewide, 2,625 people have died from the virus, DHS said. Overall, about 1% of people who have contracted the virus have died.

The number of negative tests in the state was 1,989,320, an increase of 13,808 from the previous day.

An additional 181 people were hospitalized because of the virus Saturday. Across the state, 2,045 people are currently hospitalized because of the virus. Overall, about 5% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized.

Saturday's report also showed that 77% of the people who have tested positive for the virus have recovered. That means 22%, or 68,453 cases, are currently active.
