14 more people test positive for COVID-19 in Northwestern Wisconsin on Sept. 14

Douglas County reported six new cases, while Rusk County reported three, DHS said.

Five counties reported new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, Sept. 14, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services .

Douglas County reported six new cases, while Rusk County reported three, DHS said. Burnett and Sawyer counties each recorded two new cases; and Bayfield County added one new case.

Statewide there were a total of 89,956 positive cases of the coronavirus Monday, DHS said, an increase of 771 from the day before. Of the tests reported, 19.7% were positive. The 7-day average for positive tests was 14.9%.

No additional people died, leaving the overall number of deaths in the state at 1,210, DHS said. Overall, 2% of cases have resulted in death, according to DHS data.

The number of negative tests in the state was 1,273,607, an increase of 3,149 from the day before.

An additional 18 people were hospitalized because of the virus Monday, DHS reported. There are currently 313 Wisconsinites hospitalized because of the virus. Overall, 7% of Wisconsinites who contracted the virus have been hospitalized. DHS has said it doesn't know the hospitalization history for 35% of people who tested positive.

Monday's report showed that 87% of people who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. That means about 11%, or 10,201 cases, are active in the state.

Ashland County

  • Active cases: 7
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 42
  • Total negative tests: 2,240

Bayfield County

  • Active cases: 16
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 67
  • Total negative tests: 2,636

Burnett County

  • Active cases: 27
  • Deaths: 2
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 77
  • Total negative tests: 2,357

Douglas County

  • Active cases: 36
  • Deaths: 0
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 334
  • Total negative tests: 6,747

Iron County

  • Active cases: 15
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 136
  • Total negative tests: 1,417

Price County

  • Active cases: 2
  • Deaths: 0
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 38
  • Total negative tests: 2,306

Rusk County

  • Active cases: 16
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 40
  • Total negative tests: 2,018

Sawyer County

  • Active cases: 16
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 185
  • Total negative tests: 4,192

Taylor County

  • Active cases: 35
  • Deaths: 3
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 132
  • Total negative tests: 2,514

Washburn County

  • Active cases: 13
  • Deaths: 1
  • Total cases reported since pandemic began: 83
  • Total negative tests: 2,551
