Third grade students at Cathedral School sample some food and drinks from Mexico and work on projects to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in their Spanish class. Teacher Se?ora Malu Lane told the students the story behind the holiday. Cinco de Mayo celebrates the courage of the Mexican people during La Batalla de Puebla (The battle of Puebla) on May 5, 1862, when Mexican soldiers defeated the French army at Puebla,Mexico. It is celebrated on a larger scale in the United States than in Mexico.
