Democrats?
Several writers have stated that party affiliation is not relevant to the ongoing Assembly race. Perhaps they are right to say that it is not important to have worked towards a party's goals if someone is running for sheriff, treasurer, or dog catcher. Those jobs merely require that the laws be upheld and functions of local government be carried out.
However, someone running for a state political office as a Democrat should be expected to have spent years working towards that party's goals.
Nick Milroy is the only candidate running for the state Assembly seat who has demonstrated by hard work for liberal causes that he has the credentials to represent the Democrats of Douglas County.
