The Superior Speedway supports females in racing more than ever before.

"We provide more opportunity than in previous years for women to take on more of a leadership role," said Butch Erickson, co-promoter of the speedway. "Years ago, it was more common to see women behind the concession counter. Today you will find women drivers, women as part of a pit crew and lap counters. Our marketing director is a female and I am proud to work alongside my wife Linda as a promoter.

"Our Speedway is a place where everyone matters, we are all equal partners in the sport's continued success," said Superior Speedway Marketing Director Lorraine Peterson. "We have a passion for racing and we are not afraid to get our hands dirty or make a tough decision. I appreciate working alongside the 'guys' and learning from the best."

Demographics put together by NASCAR show the sport has grown to be the No. 2 sport on television among women. Sports executives are also aware that NASCAR is among the best in attracting female fans, of which more than half of all female fans know which companies sponsor NASCAR, three out of four females can identify a favorite driver and many own their sports logo merchandise.
