MARBLE, Minn. -- A 25-year-old Iron Range woman died in a three-vehicle crash Saturday night on an icy stretch of U.S. Highway 169.
The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Kassandra Keske, 25, of Marble, died of injuries suffered in the crash just after 7 p.m. on a two-lane section of the highway near milepost 317, between Marble and Taconite.
The Patrol reported that Keske was traveling south on Highway 169 in a 2003 Ford Taurus when the car lost control in icy conditions and was struck broadside by a northbound 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe and a 1991 Ford pickup truck. The Taurus came to rest in the northbound lane. All three vehicles were totaled, the Patrol reported.

Keske was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai, 25-year-old Nathan Hoffman of Ballwin, Mo., suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids. The driver of the pickup truck, a 16-year-old Bovey boy, was not injured. All three drivers were wearing seat belts, the Patrol reported.
The Itasca County Sheriff's Office and Coleraine Police Department were among the other agencies who responded to the scene.
