Wisconsin office shut down Monday for furloughs

All state offices, including the Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles and Department of Natural Resources, are closed Monday as staff take another day of the required 16 unpaid days that must be taken over the two-year budget period.

Employee furloughs for all university and state employees are part of the 2009-2011 state budget.

DMV's automated phone system will remain available so motorists can still make road test appointments and have access to recorded information.

Titling and registration services are offered by many third-party partners, such as some police stations, grocery stores and financial institutions around the state and can be found at the WisDOT Web site.

Key DNR services will be maintained. State conservation wardens will be on duty and state parks, forests and trails will be open and staffed as necessary.

DNR's Customer Call Center will be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday to meet customer needs.
