Gov. Scott Walker's proposed budget is getting mostly good reviews from a couple of prominent Wisconsin agriculture organizations.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation supported Gov. Walker in the last election. President Bill Bruins says the governor's proposed budget is finally an example of government living within its means.

"What (Walker) has proposed obviously is going to impact all of us", says Bruins. "None of us are going to escape, but this budget proposal I think really represents true reform."

The Wisconsin Farmers Union president Darin Von Ruden has at least one concern. The proposed budget would tighten eligibility for BadgerCare, which he says could leave hundreds of farm families without health coverage.

"If they can stay in the system and pay a premium, you know $20-$30 a month, that way they'd at least have insurance."

Bruins says the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is still looking through the budget, and plans to comment more on it over the next few days.
