WINNECONNE -- The terrain of Lake Breeze Golf Course will be the site of the 2007 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in an event that will be hosted by UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 27.

The women's race is celebrating its 30th anniversary and will begin the 6,000-meter event at noon, while the men's competition is in its 47th year and will start an 8,000-meter run at 1 p.m.

This year's men's meet features all nine WIAC teams, with eight of them attempting to dethrone a UW-La Crosse program that was captured three straight championships and 28 overall. Leading the Yellowjackets will be sophomore Jason Lindelof and senior Matt Kramer, who had a number of 1-2 finishes this season.

Individually, UW-Platteville senior Tyler Sigl runs for a piece of WIAC history as he looks to become the fourth person to claim three or more league titles.

Projected to battle for a first-place team trophy at this year's women's championship are UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-Oshkosh and UW-Platteville. Last year, UW-La Crosse compiled 47 points to win its second straight WIAC title, while UW-Eau Claire finished second with 52.
