Saturday evening's storms brought several reports of trees and branches downed across Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. The National Weather Service received reports of fallen trees near Island Lake, Bayfield and Ashland. A downed tree near Phillips cut out power to the town around midnight. Strong winds of up to 50 mph were reported throughout Douglas and Bayfield counties.
Hail was also reported in the storm reports, from pea-sized hail in Carlton up to nickel- and dime-sized hail in Douglas County with larger stones reported sporadically.
Duluth received 1.1 inches of precipitation on Saturday according to the weather service. Ashland reported slightly more at 1.18 inches of rain. Up on the Iron Range, numbers were lower with 0.58 inches of rain reported in Hibbing.
