Thursday: A system passing through the region today will bring overcast skies and a chance of light snow showers, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Thanks to the clouds and winds out of the south, temperatures will rebound nicely today and we will be much warmer than yesterday with a high near 26 degrees. Any snow accumulations will be light around an inch, but will likely lead to some slick travel for the afternoon and evening commute.
Thursday night: Snow showers will begin to taper off this evening with skies becoming mostly cloudy overnight with a chilly low near 5 degrees.
Friday: Sunshine and cold temperatures will move in behind Thursday’s system and will bring a sunny, but frigid day to the Northland on Friday. Temperatures will slowly climb to an afternoon high near 14 degrees.
Temperatures look to drop below zero Friday night into Saturday morning and remain in the single digits on Saturday. We are expecting mainly dry conditions over the weekend, but a northeast wind will develop and could bring some light lake effect snow to the head of the lake and North Shore at some point Saturday.
