Sally Bair, an author from near Washburn, will present a book talk on her latest book "Williwaw Winds." It begins at 2 p.m. today in the library classroom. She will have copies of her book available and the Friends of the Library provide refreshments. This is an inspirational adventure story of Jake, a rebellious teenager who goes out to the Bering Sea with a crab fishing crew. While fighting to stay alive during a dreadful wind storm called a williwaw, he learns first-hand about God's faithfulness. "Williwaw Winds" is based on a true story of how the author's son and four others were rescued from the sea.
The library hosts its annual session of book bingo on 2-3 p.m. March 4 in the Children's Room. Stop by for fun and prizes!
The lobby display for February features fiber art from students of the University of Wisconsin-Superior Visual Arts Department. They have some beautiful items on display. Take a look to the right as you enter the library.
The Friends of the Library is busy planning their big annual book sale, which will be on April 23-24. The Friends accept donations year-round, but would appreciate them especially now until the week before the sale. They need time to go through them and sort by category, making it easier for you when you come to the sale. Bring your donations to the front desk anytime we are open.
