Serving one's community through public service requires a passion for and dedication to one's community and to those she represents. As a retired Douglas County Board member, I learned how important it is to build and retain relationships with those you represent and what it takes to get things accomplished in public office.
I first met Mary Tripp through her participation in Superior Days. Through the years, she's been a very active volunteer, working with legislators in Madison to fulfill needs and help build the future of our region. I've seen her actively engaged in many community efforts and I admire her energy and positive attitude. With her commitment to improving our region, Mary Tripp will serve and represent all residents in the district -- in both cities and rural communities. I know she will work hard to be accessible to all residents in the area and she won't lose touch with the people who send her to Madison.
Mary Tripp is a natural leader who actively engages her students and motivates them to get involved in the community. I was honored to be invited by Mary to speak to students in her Leadership Development classes at WITC. She regularly brings in local leaders to speak with her classes about the workings of local and state government. As she helps to shape the leaders of tomorrow, she clearly emphasizes the importance of active community involvement.
Mary's Tripp's leadership, dedication and involvement in our community clearly make her the best candidate to represent our entire region in Madison. I will be supporting her with my vote in the primary on Sept. 9 and encourage you to vote for her, too.
