Virginia June Jodell, 88, longtime Superior area resident, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
Virginia was born June 5, 1918, in Minneapolis, to Lorten Dahlgren and Nannie Elizabeth (Wilson) Packer.
She was a homemaker and foster parent, and was honored by Douglas County for having had the most foster children. She also was a member of the First Covenant Church and the Senior Citizens Friendship Club.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Harley Peterson and Malcolm Jodell, her parents and a sister, Ethyle Nelson.
Virginia is survived by a son, Kenneth (Dawnette) Peterson, of Lakeside; daughter, Sharon (Gerald) Colton, Poplar; son, Richard (Jeanette) Miner, Superior; daughters, Rosalind Phillips, Superior and Marrie (Joseph) Phillips-Lord and Evelyn (Kenneth) Phillips-Goodiel, both of Gordon; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First Covenant Church with Pastor Dennis Anders officiating.
The Downs-LeSage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
