The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday released the name of the 25-year-old man who died in a crash on Midway Road Tuesday morning. He was Benjamin Edward Snyder of Wrenshall. Snyder was killed in Midway Township after his pickup struck a semi at North Cloquet Road.
Emergency response personnel were dispatched to the scene just before 7:30 a.m. The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office reported that witnesses said a black Toyota Tacoma was southbound on Midway Road when it crossed into the opposite lane, striking a semi with a crane attachment head-on.
The driver of the semi, a 58-year-old man from Superior, had non-life-threatening injuries.

Midway Road was closed for several hours after the crash. The accident remains under investigation.
