The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's basketball team defeated the Bemidji State Beavers 75-69 Friday night in Bemidji.

The win was the second straight for the Yellowjackets, who improve to 3-7 on the season.

Lamar Burton-Norman led UWS with 21 points, including 5-of-7 on 3-point attempts. One of his long-range baskets tied the game 67-67 with 2:30 remaining.

Also for UWS, James Noble had 17 points, 12 rebounds and five assists, Brandon Ely had 17 points and four rebounds, Nick Messner had 11 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots. Leonard Cobb added nine points and five rebounds.

"I'm very proud of our team's effort," UWS coach Dave Buchanan said. "We only had 13 turnovers in the game, and we did a great job of getting the ball to the open guys."

The game was tied 38-38 at halftime.
