The University of Wisconsin-Superior has announced four new online programs for the 2020-21 school year, according to a news release.
The additions include bachelor’s degree psychology and computer science majors, and master’s degrees in cybersecurity and school counseling.
The new programs are designed to meet increased demand for online programs and help fill growing workforce needs. Designed to be affordable and flexible, they are ideal for nontraditional students looking to complete their degree, as well as traditional-aged students looking for a quality online program from a well-established institution, the news release said. Students in the bachelor's degree programs have the added option of taking some courses on-campus, if they choose.
The online computer science major is taught by the same instructors who teach on-campus computer science courses. The program, which requires a minor, includes the same core curriculum as its on-campus counterpart, and a selection of elective courses.
The university’s new online psychology major is equivalent to the on-campus major with requirements unchanged and a commitment to an empirical, science-focused approach.

In addition to the two new online undergraduate programs, UWS announced a new master’s in cybersecurity program earlier this spring with four available degree tracks, including digital forensics, cyber response, governance and leadership and security architecture. The program is taught by top faculty from throughout the UW System.
UWS will also be introducing an online master’s degree program in school counseling this fall.
