Jennifer Rose Kading, 24, daughter of Steve and Cherri Kading of New Richmond, has been accepted into the Peace Corps.

Kading departed for Ukraine on March 25 to become a youth development Peace Corps volunteer. Kading's work includes teaching classes on youth development-related topics, organizing extracurricular activities and conducting community projects aimed at preventing substance abuse and the spread of HIV.

A graduate of Boyceville High School, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Superior, earning a bachelor of art in psychology in 2004. Kading then went on to the University of Wisconsin-Stout at Menomonie to earn a master's degree in school counseling in 2006.

Kading joined the Peace Corps for the opportunity to work overseas with children. During the first three months of her service, Kading will live with a host family in Ukraine to become fully immersed in the country's language and culture. After acquiring the language and cultural skills necessary to assist her community, Kading will serve for two years in her host community, living among local people.
