Both men make initial appearances in Douglas County Circuit Court today to face 70 counts of criminal damage to property, according to a news release issued by Superior Deputy Chief Nicholas Alexander. Marciniak remains in custody at the Douglas County Jail; Budish was released on $250 cash bail. The lead detective assigned to the case obtained information leading to the arrest. It was reported that Budish and Marciniak were using methamphetamine on the evening the vandalism took place. They allegedly were looking for a subject that owed them money. They located and damaged that person’s vehicle and the subsequent vandalism progressed from there. The investigation is ongoing and additional suspects may be identified, Alexander stated. Anyone with information that may help identify additional people responsible is strongly encouraged to contact the Superior Police Department. A reward, of up to $500 has been offered for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the person(s) responsible.
