A pair of men arrested in connection with the robbery of an Oulu business are being held in the Bayfield County Jail.

According to the Bayfield County Sheriff's Department, an Oulu resident reported the burglary to his business on Hollander Road around 8:30 a.m. March 21. The victim told officers the suspects were still on the property because they had gotten their truck stuck on a logging road near his business.

Bayfield County Deputies responded along with the Iron River Police Chief, a Wisconsin State Trooper, and members of the United States Border Patrol.

The burglars had abandoned the truck and stolen property and left the area on foot before law enforcement arrival. Tracks at the scene indicated the suspects had fled cross country through the woods.

Law enforcement officers began a ground search for the suspects. Tracks indicated the two suspects had split up.

Methamphetamine was taken from one of the arrested; the stolen property was recovered from the stuck vehicle near the scene and returned to the owner.

Both suspects are being held in the Bayfield County Jail, awaiting their next court appearance April 12.
