Fishing enthusiasts reeled in $2,000 off the shoreline of Superior to fight pediatric dental disease recently.

The Western Lake Superior Trolling Association held its annual JAWS Derby and a portion of the Barker's Island fishing tournament's proceeds were donated to Just Kids Dental, a locally administered nonprofit which delivers free, basic, preventative oral health services to students at schools across Northwest Wisconsin and Northeast Minnesota.

"The men and women of the WLSTA are proud supporters of Just Kids Dental," said Jim VanLandschoot, trolling association president. "Healthy kids are our future and Just Kids Dental does a great job helping our youth. It's been an honor and a privilege to help out and make new friends during the derby at the same time."
