Mary Tripp has my support for her bid to represent the 73rd Assembly District. I plan to vote for her on Sept. 9. I urge everyone interested in having a legislator committed to working hard on the problems facing us to do likewise.

I have known Mary since she was in grade school. In fact I was her babysitter. At a very young age Mary was a bundle of energy, always making plans and working to solve problems in our South Superior neighborhood. She was, and is, known for being a good listener and friends/co-workers frequently seek her out to assist with solving problems.

Her first experience in politics was at a young age when she was asked to speak to the city council to try and save the South Superior branch library. She wasn't successful, due to budget cuts, but even at an early age Mary recognized the importance of speaking to the issues that matter to her community.

I have had the opportunity to work with Mary on several fundraisers for Superior Public Museum -- each a success in itself. She demonstrated great leadership by being organized, focused and persistent.

Now Mary wants to put those same leadership skills to work for the people in our community. I think she is the candidate with the most community experience, from both a volunteer and work perspective. She inspires her friends, students, and colleagues to do the same.

As a small business owner I am well aware of the need to maintain a budget, turn a profit and pay my employees a decent wage. We need someone in Madison to do the same with our tax dollars. Mary knows the value of money. She waited tables at Perkins to put herself through college and since then has made wise decisions in her personal career/financial choices. She is hard working, optimistic in her outlook about our community and has demonstrated her commitment to the area in numerous ways. I am voting for Mary Tripp and hope you will too.
