UPDATE: Blatnik Bridge reopened after third crash of morning

The Duluth-bound lanes of the Blatnik Bridge reopened at 9:30 a.m. Thursday following the third crash of the morning.

The northbound lanes on the bridge linking Superior and Duluth were blocked for about an hour and a half due to a traffic incident that occurred at 8 a.m., according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The Duluth-bound lanes of Interstate 535/U.S. Highway 53 across the bridge were also blocked for about an hour earlier on Thursday following two separate crashes involving four vehicles at 6:20 a.m., according to the Superior Police Department.

No further information about the crashes was immediately available.
