TRACK: 'Jacket teams in action

The University of Wisconsin-Superior men's and women's track teams were in action last this past weekend. The men competed at the St. John's Invite on Saturday, and the women competed at the St. Ben's Invitational, also on Saturday.

UWS junior Matt Kramer set a new indoor school record in the 1,500 as he won the event in a time of 4:02.89, at the St. John's Invite. The meet was held indoors due to inclement weather.

Sophomore Rob Tatinger placed sixth in the pole vault with a height of 13-feet 31?2 inches.

Junior Scott Eisenach placed eighth in the 800 with a time of 2:01.10, and senior Nate Boehm finished 11th in the 400 with a time of 53.71.

The Yellowjacket men finished ninth out of 13 teams with 19 points.

For the women, senior Samantha Miller was the top finisher for the Yellowjackets, as she finished fourth in the 200 hurdles with a time of 31.67 at the St. Ben's Invitational.

The 'Jackets also picked up a pair of seventh place finishes. Sophomore Katee Rosburg finished seventh in the 1,500 in a time of 5:04.34, and sophomore Alicia Bourget finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 35-41?2.

Freshman Cassey Hoffman finished eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 30-11?2, and teammate freshman Aani Rangen finished ninth with a jump of 29-91?4.

The Yellowjackets finished tied for ninth place out of 13 teams with 12 points.

UWS is back in action at the Hamline Invite at noon on Thursday.

The Yellowjackets will also be at the UW-River Falls Falcon Invite at noon on Saturday.
