The Northwestern Tigers wrestling team won five matches Thursday night at Ladysmith, but it wasn't enough as the Lumberjacks came out on top of a 47-24 final score.
Nathan Nelson, Bob Tahtinen, Wes Ronchi, Peter Rooni and Ryan Misbauer won their matches for the Tigers, who had to forfeit three matches to Ladysmith because of injuries or illness, according to NHS coach Bob Coleman.
"We had a good night," Coleman said. "Our young guys really were aggressive. They get better every time they step on the mat."
Ronchi improved to 6-0 on the season with a 5-2 decision over Travis Becker, while Nelson, Tahtinen and Rooni all won by pins.
Misbauer ended the night with an 8-2 win over Ryan Ponsler.
