More than midway through the regular season, the Northwestern High School boys basketball team remains perfect with a 69-30 win over Cumberland Tuesday night. The win brings the Tigers' record to 11-0 overall.
"I was real happy with our defensive effort and our intensity again," said Dan Cowley, NHS head coach.
In the Tigers' last meeting with Cumberland, the Beavers managed to score 46 points, something Cowley had hoped to improve upon.
Northwestern's defense was solid Tuesday night. After allowing Cumberland to score nine points in the opening quarter, the Tigers clamped down and NHS pulled away.
Aaron Corry and Steve Tecker both scored 20 points for NHS to lead the way. Corry also had nine rebounds.
