The Barron High School baseball team defeated the Northwestern Tigers, 13-0, Monday evening in a Heart O' North game.
Northwestern held Barron scoreless in the first inning, but the Bears then scored three runs in the second and seven more in the third to take a 10-0 lead. Barron finished off its scoring with three more runs in the fifth inning to end the game early.
For Barron, Justin Balts was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Andrew Sloar was 2-for-3, also with two runs scored.
Elijah Bell, Kyle Standon and Justin Kaiser each had hits for the Tigers.
The Tigers play at Cumberland today at 4:30 p.m.

Golfers lose pair
The Northwestern Tigers boys golf team dropped a pair of Heart O' North Conference matches Monday at Hayward Golf and Tennis.
The host Hurricanes finished with a team score of 158 while Ladysmith carded a 172 and Northwestern a 174.
Orrin Botten led the Tigers with a 40. Sam Knapp was next with a 42, Reece Bartelt and Aaron Corry had 46s and Josh Rowe had a non-counting 53.
Hayward's Jimmy Thompson was the medalist with a 36. Teammates Max Barnes and Trevor Vandelac tied for second with 39s.
The Tigers host Barron and Chetek at 4 p.m. today. They will be back in Hayward for the HON Conference championships on Thursday.
