Three men were charged with substantial battery and felony murder Tuesday in connection with an incident that led to the death of Paul Rauwolf, 38, of Barnes.

Rauwolf died of injuries sustained Thursday evening after he was struck by vehicle in the driveway of 2770 Lake Road around 8 p.m., according to the Bayfield County Sheriff's Department.

The man accused of driving the vehicle, Charles Quick, 42, of Gordon, fled the scene but later called authorities about the incident. He was arrested at home by members of the Douglas County Sheriff's Department.

District Attorney Craig Haukaas charged Corey Oberholtzer, 40, Vincent Petrakis, 38, and Kenneth Anderson, 46, with substantial battery and felony murder.

Evidence gathered by the Bayfield County Sheriff's Department indicated the three men and Rauwolf were involved in a fight with Quick, according to Bayfield County Chief Deputy Paul Susienka. As Quick left the residence, he drove over Rauwolf and left the scene.
