MADISON (AP) -- Senior Trevor Thompson drained six free throws in overtime to lift Grantsburg to a thrilling 54-49 victory over Blair-Taylor Thursday night in a WIAA Division 4 state basketball semifinal at the Kohl Center.
Thompson finished with 21 points overall for the Pirates (22-5), who face either Oostburg or Marathon for the Division 4 state championship on Saturday.
The Pirates' Daniel Bjorn made the play of the game when he stole a Blair-Taylor inbounds pass underneath the Grantsburg basket and scored with 26.4 seconds left to tie the game at 44-44.
Hank Kujack missed two free throws for Blair-Taylor and Grantsburg's Brent Meyers missed a bucket and putback as time expired in regulation.
Kujack scored a game-high 24 points for the Wildcats, who had a 26-game winning streak snapped.
