Deppa made his initial appearance on third child sex charge May 24, the same day the complaint was filed. A $50,000 cash bond was set for Deppa and he was ordered to have no contact with the reported victim, no contact with minors and no contact with the Superior School District. He remained in custody at the Douglas County Jail on Wednesday, May 26.
Deppa was charged May 5 with two counts of sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age and one count of exposing genitals. He is accused of sexually touching two teenage students and trying to “make out” with them while they were out for rides in his boat and during sleepovers at his Superior home, according to the complaint.
A separate cash bail of $50,000 was set in the May 5 case and Deppa was ordered to have no contact with the two victims.
If convicted, Deppa faces up to 40 years of imprisonment on each sex assault charge. His next court appearance was set for June 2.
