One day after losing 7-0 to Duluth East, the Superior High School boys tennis team turned the tables with a 7-0 win at Duluth Central Thursday afternoon.

"This was another good win, we need to go into this weekend's tournament on a positive note," SHS coach Pete Conley said. "We will be seeing a lot of good teams and if we do well this weekend it will help us out tremendously with the end of the season tournaments."

The Spartans will be competing in the always-tough Eau Claire North Invitational starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Six of Superior's seven wins were in straight sets. The lone exception was at No. 1 singles where Cody Johnson lost the first set 6-4 before winning the second two sets 7-5 and 6-4.

"Cody played a tough match, he fell behind early and had to battle back to win his match," Conley said.

"It shows a lot of maturity and determination to be able to do that at the 1 singles position."
