A Superior man was sentenced Friday in Douglas County Circuit Court in connection with two unrelated assault incidents.
Marko John Garramone, 19, pleaded no contest to battery charges stemming from incidents March 24 and May 29.
In March, Superior police responded to reports of substantial battery at 1013 N. Eighth St., and forced their way into the house where they found a 16-year-old girl crying and battered.
The girl, Brittany Granger, was dating Danny Wright, and was allegedly responsible for him being physically attacked at Mariner Mall a week before the March 24 incident. The assault to Granger was believed to be retaliation for the attack on Wright.
The charge to which Garramone pleaded was amended to misdemeanor battery despite the broken jaw the female victim suffered. District Attorney Dan Blank said the charge was amended because Granger refused to help prosecutors.

Charges are still pending against another suspect in the case, Amber Wright, 18.
However, a substantial battery charge in connection with the May 29 assault of 16-year-old Adam Markiewicz stood. Garramone pleaded no contest to a felony substantial battery charge for punching Markiewicz in the face and knocking him unconscious, according to court records.
Markiewicz required three stitches to repair damage to his lip and suffered a slight concussion, court records state.
Following the May incident, Markiewicz said he was afraid to tell police what really happened to him, in part, because of the attack on Granger.
"It was a cowardly thing to do, and Marko should be responsible for his actions," Markiewicz wrote in a victim impact statement.
Since the incident, Markiewicz said, he and his mother have been staying with family in Rice Lake, fearing Garramone and his friends might try to get even with him.
"What happens to the next person?" Markiewicz wrote, pleading with the court to administer justice. "Shouldn't it stop?"
For both battery charges, Garramone was sentenced to 3 years probation. He has been ordered to serve 90 days in jail, undergo a psychological evaluation and pay $196 in court costs for the two offenses. He will also pay $1,200 in restitution for the attack on the girl and $1,820.24 for the attack on Markiewicz.

Charges of being a party to the crime of substantial battery and child abuse were dismissed as the result of the plea agreement.
