The Superior High School girl swimmers and divers won 9-of-12 events to win its season opener 54-45 Tuesday evening at Virginia.
Karen VanOvermeiren, Kelsey Hansen and Tori Johnson each won two individual firsts for the Spartans.
Anna Anklam joined the three in winning the medley relay while Emily Aller swam with those three to win the 200 freestyle relay.
Kayla Bedard and Taylor Christner also placed first and second in diving.
Freshman Johnson's come-from-behind victory over Virginia's Kara Boelk in the 200 freestyle was a meet highlight for the Spartans.

Hansen also had an impressive start to the season swimming personal bests in the 50 and 100 freestyle races.
Defending Lake Superior Conference champion VanOvermeiren easily won her specialty races, swimming good times despite lacking close competition.
Aller, Anklam, Emma Radtke and Lori Mahan all scored while performing well in their first swims of the year.
"Despite missing four athletes to flu or injury the team overcame a tough rival squad," SHS coach George Lehman said. "We hope to have a more complete team for the Spartan Relay home opener this Saturday."
The Spartans host the Spartan Relays at home Saturday with diving at 10 a.m. and swimming scheduled for 1 p.m.
The meet will include all LSC teams as well as Duluth East, Two Harbors and Rice Lake.
