A 24-year-old Superior woman was killed in a crash on Interstate 35 in Chisago County on Saturday afternoon.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Iman Nefertiti Abdullah was killed when the vehicle she was driving rolled on I-35 just north of Stacy, Minn., at 3:15 p.m. Abdullah was driving a Chevy Tahoe south on I-35 when the vehicle drifted to the left. She overcorrected and the vehicle went into the right ditch and rolled, ejecting both Abdullah and the vehicle’s passenger, Janae Marlene Lowe-Banks, 21, of St. Paul, according to the State Patrol.

Neither were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, the State Patrol reported.

Abdullah was pronounced dead at the scene and Lowe-Banks was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with that authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries.
