"The guys were pretty hungry (in the third period) and our goal was to keep the pucks off Zach (Reiswig)."

Reiswig picked up the shutout in his first varsity start, finishing with 15 saves.

One of his saves came on a penalty shot midway through the second period.

"Zach played a great game," Kalin said. "On the penalty shot he had great execution and came out and challenge the guy.

"He was in solid position all night long and made some nice glove saves. He also stopped the head-on shots and got them to the corner nicely."

The Spartans play the host Rochester Lourdes Eagles at 3 p.m. Saturday.
