Superior, Northwestern students shine in speech competition

Forensic subdistricts were held Feb. 27 at Northwestern High School

Both the Superior and Northwestern high school teams competed in the subdistrict forensics competition Feb. 27 at Northwestern High School. Everyone advanced to district competition, which takes place March 26 in Drummond.

The SHS forensics team includes: Claudia Androsky, oratory; Evaline Britton, farrago; Katelynd Correll, storytelling; Alexa Dembroski, special occasion; Armella Lane and Leo Moos, group interpretation; Autumn LeMone and Barbra Maske, playacting; Lily Marynik, special occasion; Tabitha Moore, poetry; Jessica Roach, prose; Maggie Sengenberger, moments in history; Dale Summerfield, moments in history; Caleb Stank, Cassie Stank and Isabelle Takahara, group interpretation; and Astrid Zambori, poetry. They are coached by Emily Kelly, Rachael Holden-Kaufman and Olivia White.

The NHS forensic team includes: Hannah Nelson, Breanna Ackerson, Josie Macki, Justin Foutz, Ian Kalin, Lauren Ketola, Holly Klomhaus, Olivia Pangrac and Shelby Tenney, group interpretive reading; Jocelyn Luostari and Ryleigh Hill, informative speech; Nikita Achucarro and Sasha Achucarro, moments in history; Alexis Six, Cody Paulson, Sheila Gregerson, Logan Johansen, Katie Kyle, Justin Orme, Gilbert Torvinen, Adam Thom, Lauren Crozier and Ariel Rutten, playacting; Isabella Magerl, Kylie Burhans, Nathaniel Fechtelkotter and Tyler Smith, poetry reading; Heidi Paulson, Jade Dillard and Johnson Dillard, prose reading; Erin Germano and James Kovaleski, radio news reporting; Ella Cain and Sami Keller, solo acting; Asher Gilderman, special occasion speech; Lily Cain, storytelling. They are coached by Michael Goodlet.
