Mayor Jim Paine is inviting Superior residents to the State of the City address.
Last year, the event was canceled because of the pandemic, but with vaccinations and declining numbers of new COVID-19 infections, the mayor is getting back on track, this time with an outdoor venue.
Paine said he anticipates making a number of announcements during the speech and will again recognize a Citizen of the Year.
This year’s address will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at the outdoor space at Cedar Lounge/Earth Rider Brewery, 1715 N. Third St.
The mayor said the venue was chosen because it’s already set up with the amenities needed for a speech, places a focus on businesses hard hit during the pandemic and calls attention to an area of the city, North End, which is likely to be a place of future economic development.
