The 71-year-old Proctor man who was driving the vehicle that struck Brill was not injured and was not taken into custody.

A voluntary blood draw was collected from the driver and will be sent to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis, according to Padden.

The preliminary investigation revealed the southbound vehicle crossed over the center line and northbound traffic lane and struck Brill.

Hermantown Police are being assisted with the reconstruction and investigation of this accident by the Minnesota State Patrol.
