A Superior man will spend five years in prison for attempted incest.

Steven Michael Metzig, 23, pleaded guilty last week to felony attempted incest in Douglas County Circuit Court. The charge stems from a July incident.

Metzig was sentenced to five years in prison and 7½ years of extended supervision.

At the time of the incident, Metzig was on probation for a prior conviction of incest with a child. Probation on that 2013 case was revoked and Metzig was sentenced to five years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision to run concurrently.

The Superior man was ordered to undergo psycho-sexual and mental health evaluations, have no contact with the victims of the two cases and have no unsupervised contact with females younger than 18. He is already registered as a sex offender.
