A Superior man accused of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime made an appearance in Douglas County Circuit Court on Wednesday.
Vincent T. Baker, 35, was released on a $5,000 signature bond. As a condition of his bond, he was ordered to have no contact with the internet except as necessary for work, and no contact with any minors other than his own children. An initial appearance is set for Nov. 22.
The Lake Superior Forensic Technology & Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed a search warrant at Baker's residence on Oct. 29, according to a news release issued by Superior Deputy Chief Nicholas Alexander. Baker was a person of interest in a joint investigation between the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and the task force.
Baker was present when the warrant was executed, and he was arrested on charges of exposing a child to harmful material and use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.
As of press time, no criminal complaint had been filed with the Douglas County Clerk of Courts Office.
