Superior firefighters contain house fire

No one was injured, a news release said.

The Superior Fire Department was dispatched at 12:48 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13 to a structure fire at 2002 Hammond Ave., according to a news release.

Fire crews arrived to light smoke coming from the rear of the home.

All occupants were able to get out of the building.Firefighters worked to contain the blaze in the room where it started. No one was injured, the news release said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damages are estimated to be $17,500, the news release said.

Mayo Ambulance, the Superior Police Department and Superior Water, Light, and Power assisted at the scene.
