The Interfaith Campus Council at the University of Wisconsin-Superior is asking students to Fast for Peace on Tuesday.

Students are asked to abstain from eating, drinking (except water), swearing and smoking Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., when a meal of Chinese and East Indian food will be shared by all to break the fast.

There will be a table in the Yellowjacket Union atrium from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday, at which time students and others may sign up to participate in the fast.

Students who indicate their intent to fast, will be given a water bottle by the Interfaith Campus Council from which they can drink during the fast. The bottle will also remind them of those who suffer from lack of clean water and food on a daily basis; and that only when all the world has access to food and water will peace be possible.
