Mark Marette is the new assistant sports director for local radio station WEBC-AM.

A 2007 graduate of UMD, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in communication with minors in journalism and psychology. He is also a 2003 graduate of Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, Minn., where he lettered in football for three years.

Marette will be the play-by-play voice of St. Scholastica Hockey for the 2007-08 season, its first on The Fan 560. Northland listeners may be familiar with Marette's voice as he has been doing color-commentary for high school football during the 2007 season and was also a regular guest during the "Bulldog Breakdown" last spring.
