The Wisconsin Joint Finance Committee has scheduled four public hearings on the biennial budget bill, including one planned for Minong on April 8.
The dates, times and locations panel members are planning the hearings include 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 7 at UW-Stevens Point, Lee Dreyfus University Center, Melvin Laird Room, Stevens Point; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 8 Northwood School Richard's Auditorium, Highway 53, Minong; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 11 at the State Fair Park, Expo Center Hall A, West Allis; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 13 at Arcadia High School Auditorium, Arcadia.
The committee plans to conclude taking testimony at the time specified.
Sen. Bob Jauch, D-Poplar, a member of the committee, and Rep. Nick Milroy, D-South Range, and Janet Bewley, D-Ashland, will join committee members from all over the state at the hearing.
Due to the incredible amount of interest in this budget proposal, local legislators have been holding a number of budget listening sessions throughout northern Wisconsin and will continue to do so over the coming weeks.

Jauch is planning another noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rice Lake City Hall after more than 300 concerned citizens attended events in Hayward, Ashland and Spooner last weekend.
