The Superior Federation of Labor is sponsoring a candidate forum 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Superior Public Library for candidates for the 73rd Assembly District.
Jim Mattson, vice president of the Federation will moderate. The public is invited, and Mattson will entertain questions from the audience. The 73rd Assembly seat is wide open to challengers as incumbent Frank Boyle is retiring and not seeking re-election. All five assembly candidates have accepted the federation's invitation and will be present to answer questions.
They include Superior Fire Department captain Vern Johnson, Hawthorne Town Board chairman Bruce Meyers, Superior City Councilor Nick Milroy and Mary Tripp, communications educator at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Superior, all Democrats, and Independent Jeffrey L. Monaghan, who works at Great Lakes Electrical in Superior.
