The Superior Stampede (9-2) cruised by the Cedar Valley (Iowa) Vikings Saturday, 42-0, in the first round of the Mid-America Football League playoffs to advance to the MFL semifinals for the second year in a row.

The Stampede defense recorded its second straight shutout while sacking the Vikings' quarterback eight times and forcing three turnovers. Mike "Sammy" Williams had six tackles, one interception and one defensive touchdown for the Stampede defense.

The Stampede were led by Kevin Guillory, who had 20 carries for 169 yards and two touchdowns. LaShawn Bullock had two catches for 69 yards and one touchdown.

Superior now faces the Twin Cities Lumberjacks Saturday in Minnetonka at 7 p.m.
