Derek VanDamme, Jeff Rengel and Jeremy Ruport each scored two goals to lead the Badgers past the Bruins 9-1 in a Squirt Division youth hockey game. The puck kept finding the net at the Bantam Division North Stars defeated the Blackhawks 12-0. Wade Wiitala and Pat Runions each scored four goals and Dave Larson scored three times. (1980)
The Superior Senior High School basketball team posted its first win in five starts this season -- outscoring Ashland 9-3 in overtime to cane in a 53-47 win. Mike Charbonneau and Ken Aspinwall led the Spartan scoring with 14 points each. Charbonneau scored four of his total in the overtime session. (1981)
