Spartan girls notch first win of season

The Superior High School girls hockey team won its first game of the season with a 4-2 win over Menomonie Saturday afternoon at the Superior Ice Arena.

The Superior High School girls hockey team won its first game of the season with a 4-2 win over Menomonie Saturday afternoon at the Superior Ice Arena.

Menomonie took a 2-0 lead after the first period before Superior exploded for a three-goal second period.

Aleeah Baker scored two goals for the Spartans and Jenna Martin and Cassie Berg added a goal apiece.

Megan Mullens had 10 saves in the win for Superior.
