The Solon Springs girls basketball team was at Drummond to play the Lumberjills on Monday night in an Indianhead Conference match-up. The Eagles won the game 62-56 and are now 5-1 in the conference and 5-2 overall.
"We needed to play four solid quarters, and we did that last night," Eagles coach Dale Rajala said.
Solon Springs got off to a fast start and keep the lead for the rest of the game. At halftime, the Eagles were up 26-19, and after three quarters they led 45-35.
"We got off to a fast start and ran our transition offense very well," Rajala said.
In the fourth quarter, however, the Lumberjills pulled themselves back into the game. Rajala said Drummond closed within three points late in the fourth quarter, but the Eagles were able to make the big shot and hold on for the win.
