Two recruits have verbally committed to join the University of Wisconsin-Superior softball team, according to head coach Roger Plachta.

Taylor VanDamme, a centerfielder from Superior, and Natasha Rolloff, a third baseman from Silver Bay, will join the Yellowjackets for the 2007-08 season. These two recruits bring the current class to nine.

"We expect these two players to come in and see action right away, and they will be a valuable addition to our program," Plachta said.

VanDamme was a four-year letterwinner for Superior High School. She was also an all-state selection as a junior and was an all-conference selection as a junior and a senior. She is the daughter of Scott and Diane VanDamme. Scott was an All-American in ice hockey for the Yellowjackets in 1977.

Rolloff is an all-conference selection and team captain at Silver Bay. She is also one of the team's leading hitters for the Mariners as they take part in the 2007 Minnesota Class A State Softball Tournament.
